Cultural Fair – 19 October 2017
This is a celebration we look forward to each year where we celebrate the cultures of the continents. It is a day entirely organised by the Montessori year 7 students. Students learn crafts, cooking, language, music and dance all related to the region being studied. They are also visited by guest speakers who have travelled to the region they are studying. This year the students learned more about Europe.
During the morning, the students moved around seven different activities related to the content. We had storytelling from Greece, Belgian waffle making, Highland Games tug of war and caber tossing from Scotland and Ireland, Ukrainian football, handball from Northern Ireland, and egg painting from Romania.
In addition, we enjoyed a selection of delicious European foods at our shared pot luck lunch. In the afternoon the students presented what they had learned in an entertaining assembly.
