Every year our senior class (years 5-8) embarks on a trip or camp. This year we spent two days in Wellington, further developing our Units of Inquiry: “How We Organise Ourselves” for years 5 and 6, and “How the World Works” for years 7 and 8.
Some of the highlights included visits to Space Place and Planetarium, the Gallipoli exhibit at Te Papa, the Great War Exhibition (National War Museum), a tour of the “Beehive” parliament buildings, and Wellington Museum. Students enjoyed interactive sessions at Capitol E Studios where they designed their own computer games and produced their own television show. In between all of that, the group even managed to enjoy Wellington’s iconic cable car and its beautiful waterfront.
