Eastern Suburbs Montessori welcomes applications from all preschool aged children who attend Montessori preschools.

The Montessori Trust has an Application Criteria Process which is used in assessing all enrolment applications. Please contact our office for further details.

Places in Eastern Suburbs Montessori are limited and applications will be assessed in a fair and equitable way at all times.

Application forms will be forwarded to those wait-listed for the relevant years during the month of February preceding application closing date. If you do not receive a form, please contact our office for one to be forwarded.

If you have a child already attending another Montessori primary school and would like to transfer to ESMPS, please contact us to discuss current availability of class places.

A child’s name may be placed on the waiting list at any time and we strongly encourage early registration of your interest.

The waiting list is viewed as a record of interested parties. Length of time on a waiting list will not affect the outcome of any application.

Enrolment process

Applications must be made on the appropriate form. This is sent out prior to the relevant closing dates to all families registered on the waitlist and can be obtained from the offices of Eastern Suburbs Montessori.

Enrolment deadlines

Applications must be received by 5pm on 20 March each year.

We will then conduct interviews with the parents and child applying. If we have more applications than places available, a ballot will be held on 21 May (or the next working day).

The table below sets out guidelines as to the appropriate times for application according to the child’s birth date.

The Trust welcomes applications for any other age group at any time. These will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and places allocated as and when they are available. Availability is determined solely at the discretion of the Trust.

Eligibility to apply

When selecting children for places in the ESMPS Unit, the Trust must, in the interests of the wellbeing of the Unit, enroll those children best prepared for the Montessori Primary classroom environment. To that end, it has determined that a child requires minimum levels of preschool Montessori education as set out in the Eligibility to Apply document here.

International students

We welcome international students and proudly offer a culturally diverse learning environment.

Montessori preschools

Prior to entry into Eastern Suburbs Montessori, children must attend a suitable Montessori preschool for two full years, and ideally an additional two full terms.

The Trust reserves the right to determine the suitability of any Montessori preschool.
